What
is NEUTOCRETE®?
NEUTOCRETE® is a proprietary lightweight
water repellent cementos-based mixture that once has cured, is completely waterproof,
dry and hard. The process was patented by the US Government in 1999.
What is NEUTOCRETE®—concrete/plastic
mixture?
NEUTOCRETE® is a cementious product with a lot of minerals.
And because it has so many minerals in it, the NEUTOCRETE® has
an insulating value of R-6, which will help with the
energy efficiency of your home. It will help reduce your heating and air conditioning
costs because of its insulating values.
What do
you do?
We seal dirt crawlspaces under homes
to permanently seal out the moisture in your crawlspace to
control mold, mildew, bacteria and allergens that breed
in the dirt and pollute the air quality of your home.
What
can NEUTOCRETE® do
for me?
• Improve
health (e.g., reduce symptoms from allergies, asthma, arthritis,
or respiratory ailments)
• Increase
energy efficiency
• Eliminate
odors (e.g., mustiness, mold and mildew in the crawlspace)
• Increase
the value of home (e.g., preventing structural damage
from
dry rot).
How
long will the NEUTOCRETE® last?
NEUTOCRETE® is a permanent solution
and will last the life of your home.
After
the NEUTOCRETE® has
been installed, should I close up my vents?
There are studies being conducted by Advance Energy
of Raleigh, NC on ventilated crawlspaces versus sealed crawlspaces and
preliminary results have shown that sealed crawlspaces have less moisture
problems and are more energy efficient. It is also our recommendation
to close and seal the vents after the NEUTOCRETE® has
cured. Advanced Energy is an independent testing organization funded
in part by the U.S. Department of Energy as well as a consortium of power
companies. For more information you can find them on the web at www.advancedenergy.org
Is
NEUTOCRETE® waterproof?
The mixture, when cured and dry, results in a highly
moisture resistant finish with exceptional vapor reduction qualities
to prevent mold growth.
When
NEUTOCRETE® is
applied, are the vapors or materials hazardous?
No. NEUTOCRETE® is made of all natural,
non-hazardous materials and we have the material safety data sheet (MSDS)
to prove it.
How
much does it cost?
It is impossible to price our work without seeing
the crawlspace.
There
are 5 factors determining price:
• The
overall condition of the crawlspace (standing water, mold & debris)
• Amount
of headroom
• Distance
from our pump to the crawlspace
• Grade
of the crawlspace
• Overall
area square footage
How
long has NEUTOCRETE® been
in existence?
NEUTOCRETE® has been in
existence since November of 1989.
In fact, in 1999 the US Government granted
us a patent for the process.
What
is the "life expectancy" of NEUTOCRETE® (will
we have to reapply at a later time)?
The NEUTOCRETE® will
last as long as your home. There is no maintenance required and once
installed, you will have a sealed, safe and secure space.
How
does the system manage standing water in the crawlspace?
Our systems are designed to keep water out and
designed to get water out in a catastrophe (like a broken water pipe).
We install an exceptional drainage system under our product to manage
all water conditions that your home may experience.
How
do you account for the grade (slope of the crawlspace)?
NEUTOCRETE® is a light weight
product and is moldable. It follows the contours of the crawlspace
floor. This attribute also allows us to go up the crawlspace walls
and up the supporting piers.
After
the NEUTOCRETE® application,
what maintenance or what upkeep is needed?
None. NEUTOCRETE® is maintenance
free!
